September 2009 Competition, Spotted Grunter Challenge

Submitted by Nigel on September 1, 2009 – 00:014 Comments

september2009There is one main prize for September 2009 and that is a PENN Sargus 3000 Reel. This reel is ideal for general fishing and dropshot, it is extremely smooth and well built.

To stand a chance of winning this reel you will have to target a Spotted Grunter. The best judged Spotted Grunter caught during September 2009 will win. By best judged catch we mean a Spotty of say 4kg  caught on light tackle could be a better catch than a 5kg caught with a heavy rock and surf outfit. (You must specify your tackle used)

So come on guys if you up for a challenge and want to win a quality reel get out there during September 2009 and target that tailing Spotted Grunter. You may use bait or dropshot.

HOW TO ENTER: (rules)

1. Submit your Spotted Grunter catch with a photo, story and tackle used during August and you could win the prize. (fish must have been caught during September 2009 in the Eastern Cape)

2. Minimum fish size of 40cm. (legal size) Fish must be measured full length.

3. Competition closes on 30th September 2009.

4. The winner will be contacted and announced early October.

5. Use the ADD YOUR CATCH BUTTON at the top of the left sidebar to enter.

6. Fish must be caught from the sea shore or rivers. (No deep sea catches allowed in comp)

7. Photos must have either yourself holding the fish or if fishing alone place your rod and reel next to the fish as to show some scale. (Pictures of fish on their own will not be entered).

8. Fish must be caught using a fishing rod, no nets allowed.

NOTE: Please don’t try submit old photos, we have ways of extracting the  info and checking when the photo was taken.

    Yes Loolie

Posts are updated each night. As long as the pic post is sent in before the end of the first day of the following month it is entered.

If comp closes on 31st of a month you can still submit on the 1st if you only caught the fish on the 31st of the last month.

I uploaded a photo of a fish today(28 sep) it said the photo will show up in a few days. Will my fish still count in the competition?

Hi Anita, any angler can enter as long as fish is caught in EC. They must register though to use the live chat and forum, also to get a member card which will be used for shop discounts at a later stage.

Hi, would love to enter, but only fishing in October again. Our Club is hosting a Competition (Light Tackle) between 5 Clubs. Can we enter for those anglers who catch big spotties, or do they have to be members of your website?
